King Supports Multi-Cultural Society

Published onsdag 27 december 2006 kl 14.25

In his annual Christmas speech to the nation, Swedish King Carl Gustaf has called for increased efforts for the integration of immigrants and refugees in Sweden.

He insists  that Sweden has been enriched by the new blood and that all are welcome  – a direct barb to anti-foreigner sentiments here.

The King also stressed that relations should remain good between Sweden and the United States which has received so many Swedish immigrants in the past.
