Watch Out for Fireworks

Published fredag 29 december 2006 kl 11.04

As New Years Eve quickly approaches, concerns are once again directed to fire works and their hazards.

According to statistics some 300 people are injured every year by fireworks, and 6 out of 10 fifteen year old boys will launch fireworks under the influence of alcohol.

Police are not able to keep an eye on all fireworks merchants, and therefore have no way way of controlling sales to minors.

Adding to that, there are numerous stores which sell fireworks illegally.

As always, authorities are saying to keep well clear of fireworks that have not yet exploded, and to use extra caution around children.
