Fears Swedes could abandon their skis

Published fredag 5 januari 2007 kl 11.35

Ski industry bosses fear a lack of snow could drive them off the pistes and onto golf courses instead.

The unusually dry and mild weather Sweden’s been having means skiers in the south, or central parts, are having to trek to slopes much further north than normal.

While resorts in the north are benefiting, bosses there say they are concerned a lack of snow further south will lead to many Swedes giving up the sport altogether.
