Cheap alcohol sites closing down

Most of the thirty or so websites which Swedes have been using to buy cheap beer and spirits have now stopped trading.

Swedish customs officers say their business was beginning to dwindle, despite the relatively expensive prices in government shops here.

In November, the Advocate General of the European Court of Justice backed Sweden’s law which bans private alcohol imports, unless a person physically brings bottles in themselves.
