It remains windy, especially in the north, as Sweden recovers from Sunday’s storm. Monday morning more than 100,000 households with still without electricity, and thousands were without telephone connections. There have been calls to change the law to force telephone companies to pay damages to homes without service, as is already the case with the power companies.
Four people died in the storm, and two more were apparently killed during forest clean-up afterwards. More than 20 schools and preschools in the southern province of Småland were closed Tuesday because of the lack of electricity.
It’s clear in much of the south, with some rain in the far south, and snow in the north.
