Immigrants Drink Less than Swedes

Published onsdag 17 januari 2007 kl 12.03

The newspaper “Svenska Dagbladet” reports that alcohol consumption has declined in Sweden for the second year in a row.

Last year Swedes drank 3 percent less alcohol.

According to a new study, immigrants in Sweden drink much less than native born Swedes. But the longer they live in this country, the more their consumption increases.

The biggest difference is among people born in Moslem countries, while the drinking habits of immigrants from Sweden’s Nordic neighbors are the same as Swedes.
