Zlatan Continues to Boycott National Team

Published onsdag 31 januari 2007 kl 11.50

Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has once again declined to play for the Swedish national soccer team. Zlatan has opted out of a friendly match against Egypt next month.

He has not played for Sweden since being sent home in September last year for being out late ahead of a European qualifier. According to reports, the star striker refuses to play again under coach Lars Lagerbäck.

Other absentees from the Swedish team will be Arsenal’s Fredrik Ljungberg, who has just begun training after being injured, and Henrik Larsson, who says he has retired from the national side.
