Maria Wetterstrand speaking at the Green conference

At its party congress in Norrköping the Greens voted to stay clear of political blocks and not align themselves.

They also made it clear that they would like to re-think their proposals for tax reforms. Instead of further cuts in payroll taxes, they would like to see resources shunted back to different climate measures.

In her opening speech, party spokesperson Maria Wetterstrand made dig after dig at the governing centre-right alliance’s environmental measures - calling it a parody on politics.

Demands from the Green Party include: a doubling of rail capacity; re-vamped ports and as much wind power as Germany has.
