Few Proposals from Anti-Immigrant Party

Published måndag 21 maj 2007 kl 13.01

The anti-immigrant Sweden Democrat party wound up its annual conference on Sunday with re-elected leader Jimmie Åkesson claiming the party stood a realistic chance of becoming the country’s third or fourth biggest political force.

Swedish media has reported criticism of the party centring on its lack of policies and budget proposals.

The party adopted two motions during its conference: one dealt with care of the elderly and the second was a raft of proposals designed to tighten immigration legislation and boost the importance of Swedish traditions and values.
