Schyman Reverses Position on EU

Published tisdag 22 maj 2007 kl 12.57
Gudrun Schyman

Former Left Party leader and staunch anti-EU campaigner, Gudrun Schyman, has said she no longer wants to see Sweden leave the European Union.

Schyman led the Left Party’s campaign against Swedish EU-entry in the run-up to Sweden’s referendum on membership in 1994.

She told Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet that pulling out of the EU now would be ”unintelligent”.

Meanwhile, the former Communist Left Party, continues to argue for Sweden to withdraw from the European Union.
