Young People Turn to Vocational Training
According to the Swedish National Agency of Education and a survey from Swedish Radio News, Swedish students are preferring vocational programs for their high school studies.
For the final three years of secondary education, Swedish students can choose to focus on subjects including languages, science and history, or they can opt for vocational programs.
Last year was the first time that students applied for more vocational than theory-based courses, and the trend is continuing this year.
Within 80 municipalities in Sweden, the programs attracting the most applicants are vocational training specialising in house construction, car maintenance and courses for electricians.
