Social Democrat Energy Proposal
Sweden’s opposition Social Democrats have presented a new program on energy and climate.
Writing in the newspaper “Dagens Nyheter” Monday, MP and former minister Thomas Östros says the plan would contribute to sustainable energy production and secure Swedish industry’s access to electricity at competitive prices.
The Social Democrat proposal comes after the center-right government presented its new budget last week.
Östros says the government’s goal of reducing carbon emissions by 30 percent doesn’t go far enough.
