Greenpeace Protests Over Nuclear Waste Transport
Rubber boats from the Swedish branch of the world-wide environmental activist organization Greenpeace were on hand to protest the arrival of the nuclear waste cargo ship – the Atlantic Osprey – at the port of Studsvik southeast of Stockholm.
The ship is to carry Swedish spent fuel to Britain.
Swedish police boarded the rubber boats to stop the action.
Some 30 Nordic members of Greenpeace are also carrying out protest demonstrations around the Studvik nuclear plant have near the southeast port of Nyköping.
