New Moderates Plummet in Opinion Poll
As the conservative Moderate party conference went into its second day Friday, the party awoke to its lowest ranking in a public opinion poll in three years.
Support for the Moderates lies at 23.4 percent. Combined, the ruling centre-right alliance parties drew 40.2 percent. This compares to the opposition block’s 55.1 percent of public support.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said the renewal of the so-called ”New Moderates” must continue, with welfare and employment policies as guiding stars.
