Greenpeace in Biofuel Protest
Environmental activists Greenpeace held a protest outside the offices of the petrol company OKQ8 in Stockholm Monday, unfurling a huge banner down the side of the building.
But it wasn’t petrol or crude oil usage they were protesting against, but a new type of biofuel being developed by the company from palm oil.
Greenpeace say the fuel would mean that huge amounts of rainforest would have to be cut down to extract the palm oil.
OKQ8 say they haven’t sold a single litre of the new biofuel yet, and have even delayed its introduction into the market as they look for alternatives to palm oil from which to make the fuel.
