Pipeline Consortium Rejects Swedish Concern

Published fredag 2 november 2007 kl 10.04

Rejecting criticism from Sweden’s Environment Minister, Nord Stream said in a statement that running a planned gas pipeline between Russia and Germany is the best route both technically, environmentally and economically.

Sweden’s Environment Minister Andreas Calgren had expressed concerns that the plan was problematic and risky for the environment.  Calgren would like to see in-depth data on environmental consequences and says it’s important to make this clear to Nord Stream.

The Russian-led consortium is seeking Sweden’s approval for the route as it runs through Swedish waters.
