Moderates End Cooperation with Sweden Democrats

Published fredag 23 november 2007 kl 12.00

In reaction to heavy criticism, the conservative moderate party in Karlskrona has backed down and in the future will not formally work with the anti-immigrant Sweden Democrats.

The locals had argued that joining forces with the much criticized Sweden Democrats was only way they could reach agreement on school policy.

The Prime Minister and others in the party insist that there is a clear decision not to work with the anti-immigrant party.  The Karlskrona branch has now said that it will limit its contact with the controversial party to discussions only.
