Fish Good For Dementia Patients

Published torsdag 29 november 2007 kl 13.06

Patients suffering from dementia get better memory and are less depressed if they ate fatty fish.

That’s the conclusion of a new Swedish study, which found that Omega 3, a fat commonly found in fatty fish, had the positive characteristics.

The researchers are now looking at other foods and their possible effects on illnesses such as Alzheimers. There are over 150 000 patients suffering from dementia in Sweden today, and that figure is expected to grow over the coming years with the ageing population.
