Mince Beef Sales Decline at Supermarkets

Published tisdag 11 december 2007 kl 10.40

Since the revelation by Swedish Television about the mishandling of mince beef at four Ica Maxi supermarkets, the sales have dropped significantly - in one case by 50 percent.

Depending on the results of a police investigation the owners of these four stores now face losing their licences to sell under the Ica name, Sweden’s largest supermarket chain.

Today a total of 1,400 store owners have been called to Stockholm to attend a meeting for inquiry into what has happened and to discuss the issues further. As a result of the Swedish Television revelation all Ica stores shall now be inspected for quality.
