New Laws Boost Prices, Help Police
New laws in Sweden will make it easier for police to bug telephones and internet communications in the hunt for criminals – and to round up dogs considered a danger to other people.
It will also be easier for foreign women to come to Sweden to get an abortion – women coming from countries where abortions are illegal.
Swedes will face higher prices for gasoline, diesel oil, beer, tobacco and television license fees – but lower prices for wine. The new year will also see the abolishment of the property tax.
