Gender Equality and Business

Published måndag 14 april 2008 kl 12.04

Sweden is often hailed as one of the best countries in the world when it comes to gender equality. But it’s not all as rosy as you might imagine.

Within the EU only Ireland and Malta are worse when it comes to the amount of women in leading positions in business. Only 3.9% of Swedish women own their own companies. Not the most impressive figure.

So now the centre right government wants to change that, and they have presented a proposal to get more women to take that big leap into business.
