Strong EU Critic To Leave Social Democrat Party
The outspoken critic of the EU, Sören Wibe is to leave his party, the Social Democrats, after 25 years as a member.
He sat on the parties ”no committee” during the time of the swedish referendum on joining the EU in 1994 and led the campaign against joining the Euro in 2003.
On Sunday, he’ll step down as chairman of the Association of Social Democrat EU critics and leave the Social Democrat party itself.
His reasons, he said he was not satisfied in the way in which his party had failed to resist the growing power of the EU and what he saw as the removal of national interests to brussels.
