Positive Results for Telia Sonera, Volvo and Ericsson
Three of Sweden’s leading companies have presented rather positive quarterly reports.
Swedish-Finnish phone operator Telia Sonera exceeded expectations in the first quarter of the year with a net profit of 6.5 billion Swedish Crowns – around one billion US Dollars.
After recent financial trouble telecommunication giant Ericsson reported a net profit of 3.7 billion Crowns.
Truck manufacturer Volvo closed their first quarter of this year with a surplus of 6.1 billion Crowns.
According to market analysts, the quarterly reports do not bear traces of a down-cooling economy, adding that the troubled markets in the United States have not had any significant impact on the Swedish economy yet.
