Volvo Recalls Cars Over Airbag Fault
Swedish automaker Volvo cars has been forced to recall 65,000 of its cars around the world because of a problem with safety airbags.
The models affected were the V70 and XC70, although the problem didn’t affect those cars in the United States and Canada.
22,384 are being recalled in Sweden alone.
A spokesman for the company said that due to a technical problem in the software, the lateral airbags did not deploy as quickly as they should.
”We are talking about a very small time ...thousandths of seconds,” said Maria Bohlin , adding that during the recall the software involved would be adjusted to become ”more efficient.”
