Published tisdag 29 april 2008 kl 11.04

The famous Swedish Film and Stage Director Ingmar Bergman, who died last year, has been honoured by having a street re-named in his memory.

Stockholm City Council officially announced Bergman street at a meeting on Monday night.

The street will be close to Stockholm’s Dramatic theatre where Bergman directed many of his plays including works by Strindberg, Ibsen and Tennesse Williams.

A small adjoining square will also be renamed Ingmar Bergman Square.

Bergman died in July last year at the age of 89.
