Nurses’ Strike to Expand

Published onsdag 30 april 2008 kl 10.02

Mediators failed to find a compromise Tuesday as the current strike of Swedish nurses and other healthcare workers is in its second week.

A further 3500 members of the Swedish Association of Health Professionals are due to join the conflict Monday. The union has also given notice that the strike will be expanded by another 2750 from May 16th.

There are already around 3400 nurses, midwives, biomedical scientists and radiographers taking part in the conflict, which began April 21st.

The two sides are not due to meet again until Tuesday next week.
