Kenyans Dominate Red Hot Marathon

Kenyans dominated Saturday’s Stockholm Marathon which was run in Sweltering conditions.

It was the third consecutive time that the marathon was run in hot conditions, temperatures reaching 26 celsius on Saturday but that didn’t stop a record number of runners finishing the 26 mile race. 13.543 runners - 10.513 men and 3.029 women crossed the finish line in the Olympic stadium.

Kenya’s Willy Korir won the Men’s in a time of 2 hours 16 minutes and 3 seconds while Kenya’s Isabellah Andersson, who came to Sweden four years ago to compete in orienteering, won the Women’s race in a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes and 14 seconds.

It was the 30th running of the Stockholm Marathon.
