"Green" Milk More Profitable than "White"

Published tisdag 17 juni 2008 kl 12.01

A new study carried out by the association of Swedish milk farmers torpedoes the assumption that it is more expensive to produce ecological milk and that the higher prices scare away the consumer.

The study shows that by avoiding the costs for chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the ”green” milk is cheaper and gives a bigger per centage profit per cow.

The report also shows that more and more consumers in Sweden are reaching for those green, red and white packages of environmentally-friendly milk.
