Citibank: No Credit Cards for the Elderly
The newspaper “Dagens Nyheter” reports that the American Citibank is refusing to grant credit cards to Swedish customers who’ve reached the age of 75.
The bank says this is because you never know when an older person might die, and is a simple risk assessment.
The head of the Swedish Pensioner’s organization says the restriction is age discrimination.
The head of information for Nordea, the Nordic region’s largest banking group, says they have no age restrictions.
