More Permanent Jobs for Second Quarter

Published onsdag 27 augusti 2008 kl 12.08

Although Sweden’s labour market is currently slow, the number of permanent jobs has increased in the year’s second quarter by 123 000.

Compared to the same period last year, that is a 3.7 percent rise, with 74000 of these jobs going to men and 49000 to women.

The number of people in temporary positions has gone down by 5.1 percent, a decrease of 37000 people.

According to Statistics Sweden, who released the figures on Wednesday, this is the second quarter in a row where the number of temporary positions as decreased, which is a clear indication that the labour market is undergoing change.
