One Million Cases for the Debt Collection Agency

Published torsdag 4 september 2008 kl 12.54

Sweden’s state-run debt collection agency is expected to deal with around one million cases of insolvent citizens by the end of this year.

As Swedish Radio news reports, 500,000 cases of indebted people are being dealt with by the authority as of today. But according to experts at the authority, this figure is likely to double in the coming three months.

Especially the number of insolvent young adults is on the up, with many of them having received so-called sms-loans. The debt collection agency also criticizes the retail industry for arranging loans for young people too easily.
