No Wheelchair Places on Fast Tains

Published torsdag 11 december 2008 kl 10.22

The Swedish high speed X2000 trains are not carrying any more wheelchair users.

A serious fault in the trains’ wheelchair lifting devices was discovered when one passenger fell onto the platform, luckily without any serious injury.

Now train operator SJ says that the welding in all its wheelchair lifts may be faulty and is taking them out of use.

No more wheelchair places will be sold on the high speed train and those currently booked on a journey will get a refund.

SJ say that it is unclear when the fault will be repaired.
