Sweden Tops Child caring league

Published fredag 12 december 2008 kl 12.18

Sweden’s top of the league according to Unicef when it comes to looking after children in their early years.

The UN children’s organization studied and judged 25 rich countries on ten separate criteria on caring for children, such as education, parental leave, childminding and a child poverty rate of less than ten percent.

Sweden was the only one to meet all of Unicef’s ten recommended benchmarks which it considered vital for children’s first few years.

Iceland met nine of the targets and Denmark, Finland, France and Norway all met eight.
