Refugees unable to make ends meet

News reports claim that asylum seekers in Sweden in some areas are living below the minimum existence level - and that economic assistance has not been boosted for the last 14 years.

The present grant of some 20 dollars a day is considered enough for a single person but often has to cover the needs of a whole family.

Migration authorities claim that the level of welfare payments is a question for the government - but admit that the allowance is too low.
