Continuing disturbances in Malmö’s Rosengård district
Malmö’s immigrant suburb Rosengård was the scene of continued unrest Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Police apprehended a number of youths and protected firemen who were being attacked while putting out fires started by protesters.
The ongoing unrest in Sweden’s southernmost city was sparked last month by the forced closing-down of a basement room used as a mosque. The landlord had canceled the contract with the tenants and barred them from entering the building.
