Auto sellers suffer from crisis
The economical crisis has led to a sharp drop in car sales. Sweden’s auto sellers’ association announced on Friday that 254,000 new cars had been sold during 2008. That was a 17 percent’s decline compared to the previous year. In December alone sales shrank by 45 percent, compared to December of 2007.
While total sales numbers are faltering, auto sellers are noticing an upward trend for biogas-driven cars. The association attributes this to people’s growing concern for the environment and also to sinking prices for biofuel.
