Swedish Hockey on a Roll

Sweden's women's team at the 2006 final against Canada

Sweden’s women’s hockey team have smashed to victory in their first two matches of the Six Nations’ hockey tournament and now face Russia on Monday evening.

And Monday is also the day of reckoning for Sweden’s junior hockey team as it faces Canada in the final match of the junior hockey world cup.

On Friday the women’s team beat Switzerland 5-3 and on Sunday saw off host nation Germany by four points to one.

They now face Russia in the semifinal later on Monday. A victory there will probably send them to meet Canada in the final.

Meanwhile Sweden’s male juniors will play against Canada in the final of the junior hockey world cup, after beating Slovakia 5-3 on Sunday.
