Swedes Urged to Check Before They Give

Published måndag 5 januari 2009 kl 11.14

The Swedish Fundraising Council has warned the Swedish public to be on the lookout for groups collecting money but without proper oversight.

They now list 29 groups that are engaged in fund raising across Sweden without a suitable officially registered bank account.

According to the Fundraising Council’s general Secretary, Erik Zachrison, groups without the so called 90-account are not properly accountable nor have they promised to use the requisite 75 percent of the money for its main purpose.
