The Swedish Foreign Ministry has told Swedish Radio News that a Swede who has been imprisoned in Yemen for almost a year has been freed.

The 26 year old man was arrested at San’a’ airport when he was going to travel from Yemen in December 2007. He was freed in November after 11 months imprisonment, but this has been made public for the first time now.

According to the foreign ministry, during his imprisonment he was not allowed a lawyer and neither his family nor the Swedish authorities have been told was he was accused of.
