Food Scandal

School Canteen Serves Soiled Pasta

Published torsdag 29 januari 2009 kl 12.08
Not the food in question...

Parents and politicians in Gothenburg are up in arms after it was revealed that food that had fallen onto the floor in a school canteen was later served to pupils.

A deliveryman to the central school canteen in the Lundby district saw cooks drop a pile of spaghetti on the floor and then spoon it back into containers, he recorded what he saw on his mobile and then sent the film to the local media.

After an investigation bosses at the canteen discovered the spaghetti had then been sent out to schools in the region, breaking all the rules and possible posing a public health risk. Local politician Ann Lundgren has called the discovery ”totally unacceptable”. Managers at the canteen have promised they will review their routines and are still finding out what happened.
