Sweden’s veteran Ice Hockey star Peter Forsberg has ruled out a return to America’s National Hockey league this season. Forsberg, who’s been plagued by injury for several years, told national broadcaster SVT that if was able to play at all, then it would be for his hometown club Modo in the Swedish league.

”There won’t be any NHL this season, that’s totally clear,” Forsberg told SVT. ”If I can play it will be in the (Swedish) Elite Series and Modo.”

Forsberg, 35, has made a slow returbn to action, testing his right foot on the ice in recent weeks.

Forsberg, who’s 35, made a late-season return to the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL last year, but missed most games through injury.
