Sweden Wants Closer Cooperation with US

The Swedish government want to cooperate more with the US administration.  The first ministerial meeting between the countries took place on Tuesday evening, during Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson’s visit to Washington.

Sweden wants to increase cooperation between the EU and the US, especially on issues such as fighting world poverty. Another area where cooperation might be beneficial is regarding aid to Afghanistan. While in Washington Carlsson met with acting Foreign Minister Jacob Lew as well as security adviser Samantha Power.
