A sensational court case has captured headlines again here with an appeal court upholding the sentence of life imprisonment for a German woman found guilty of murdering two small children and badly wounding the mother in their home a year ago in the town of Arboga – west of Stockholm.

The court has also raised the amount of damaged to be paid to the family.

The defense will appeal the case to the Swedish supreme court. Meanwhile, negotiations are expected to decide if the woman is to be handed over to Germany to serve her sentence there.

Although no technical evidence connects the accused to the crime and the woman claims she is innocent, she admits that she visited the town on the day of the murders.   She was also depressed that the mother’s husband and father of the 2 children had earlier ended a relationship with her.
