Forsberg Career Could Be Over For Good

Swedish Ice Hockey great Peter Forsberg’s career could be over after his latest comeback attempt broke down again.

”Foppa” as he’s known, has been making a tentative comeback from a long standing foot injury in Sweden’s elite Ice Hockey League for his northern hometown club Modo.

But he never turned out for his side in Tuesday night’s defeat to HV71 and during a break between the second and third periods, he told the media and the fans that his foot still hurt and he was taking a break.

Asked whether his glittering career was over, Forsberg said that it ” wasn’t”  but ”it’s not looking good at the moment.”

Forsberg, who’s 36, is one of the few hockey players to win a Stanley Cup, Olympic gold medal and world championship.

He scored three points for Modo in two matches during his short comeback but was clearly still troubled by his foot problem.
