First Crane Spotted
The first cranes of the year have arrived at Lake Hornborga in the west of Sweden – traditionally the first sign that spring is on its way.
Anders Bergström, manager at Hornborga Naturum Information Centre spotted the first crane on Monday.
”But a resident in the area had seen it the day before,” Bergström told news agency TT.
The second crane arrived on Wednesday but Anders Bergström is not expecting any larger flocks of birds for a few weeks.
Last year, 15000 cranes nested on Lake Hornborga and the first crane was spotted as early as February 29.
