Ferris Wheels

The Gothenburg Eye?

Published onsdag 4 mars 2009 kl 17.39
The wheel will stand next to the Opera

The west coast city of Gothenburg has always liked to call itself “Little London”and is now planning an addition to its skyline reminiscent of the bigger city.

A 60 metre high Ferris wheel is to be erected next to the Opera House. The project is planned to be finished before summer and the wheel is currently being shipped to Sweden from Australia.

However, despite being almost three times as high as the current Ferris wheel in the local amusement park Liseberg, it will still not be able to compete with the famous London Eye, which stands 135 metres above the ground, nor the Ferris Wheel of Paris at 100 metres.
