Left Leader’s Emergency Appendectomy
The newspaper “Expressen” reports that Swedish Left Party leader Lars Ohly was taken by ambulance to the hospital with severe stomach pains on Friday, while celebrating the Easter holiday in the province of Dalarna.
In its online edition the newspaper says Ohly had an emergency appendectomy at Falu Lasarett in Falun. His press secretary tells “Expressen” that the operation was uncomplicated and that the Left Party leader is doing well under the circumstances.
The Left Party is one of the three parties in Sweden’s red-green opposition alliance.
