Swedish Church Goes Green

Published måndag 13 april 2009 kl 12.13
Solar energy is being harnessed by the church

The Swedish Church is going green. The country’s first solar powered church had its new roof unveiled on Easter Sunday. The church is high up on a hill overlooking a fishing village in Bua in western Sweden, with a view of Ringhals nuclear power plant. The switch to green electricity was made after the church, which was built in the seventies, was granted funding from the local council.
