A wedding fit for a Princess

June 2010 will be a bumper month for the hotel and tourist industry in Stockholm and it’s all due to the Royal wedding. Already hotels are being booked up for the weekend of the wedding between Crown Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling. Travel companies such as ResZander AB in Kalmar and Ramkvillabuss in Ramkvilla say weekend package deals to the nation’s capital are being snapped up by Swedes around the country who want to be in Stockholm for the big day.

Jonas Sturzenbecker from ResZander told TT news agency that they’ve booked hotel rooms for upto 1,000 people, laying on between 10 and 20 busses for June 19th. Hotel prices for the weekend have shot up since the date was announced.

Most hotels have taken bookings from Swedes but German operators are also booking up rooms.
