Trial Against Suspected Swedish Terrorist Opens

Published tisdag 14 april 2009 kl 10.55

On Monday, the trial against a Swedish citizen accused of terror charges has begun in New York, USA. Prosecutors claim the Swede with Lebanese origin helped build up a terror camp in the US state of Oregon to teach how to kill or injure people in other countries.

The 43-year-old has been held in custody for three and a half years now, after he was arrested in the Czech Republic in December 2005.

In 2007, the man was extradited to the United States where he claims to have been mistreated while in custody. The verdict is expected within a month. (ah)
